How are other customers implementing Exit Surveys?
These are a few key bits of insight we've gleaned from how our customers are implementing Exit Surveys:
- Comms are king. Pre-communication about the reasons for doing this both at the company level and to the individual employee within the invite text and survey intro page are crucial. They need to feel their experience and perspective matters, give them purpose, make a difference to current and future employees
- Timing is important. The sweet spot seems to be the week of an employee handing their notice in. That's when reasons & thoughts are freshest and you'll get the more honest opinions. If not answered, schedule a reminder for a week later & emphasise the importance of completing
- Make it part of a process - some companies have offboarding checklists for employees. If you have this, adding this as a to-do action can work as a reminder to complete
- Build momentum. Crucially, the organisation seeing action taken from insights in Exit Surveys shows the value in completing them and our customers have seen this translate to higher response rates.
