From Monday, Aug 3rd 2026, you will see some changes to your survey dashboards.
Introducing factors
For those of you familiar with our ‘The Happiness Index’ survey, you will know by now that each of the questions in our survey relates to a ‘factor’ within our neuroscience model.
What is a factor? Well, a factor is a sub-theme that sits underneath one of our 8 core neuroscience themes or within our open-questions section.
Each question in the survey has a corresponding factor.
- Safety: Physical environment | Psychological safety | Work life integration
- Freedom: Authenticity | Autonomy | Belonging
- Relationships: Manager relationships | Energetic connections | Team dynamics
- Acknowledgement: Recognition | Listened to | Feedback
- Personal Growth: Learning and development | Career progression | Challenge
- Meaning and Purpose: Inspiration | Commitment | Values
- Clarity: Role clarity | Information flow | Organisational impact
- Enablement: Workload | Resources | Collaboration
- Open Questions: Happiness | eNPS | Intent to stay | Trust | Productivity | Pay and benefits
What are we changing?
From Monday, Aug 3rd 2026, where previously you would have seen the questions listed on the dashboard, you will now see the factor instead:

Why are we changing it?
- To make it easier for you to see at a glance which factors in your business are scoring strongly versus those that need a little extra attention.
- To make it easier for you to correlate which factors are the key drivers of happiness within your business.
FAQ’s
- Will this change affect people taking my survey? No, the respondents of your survey will continue to see the questions as they always have done.
- Will I still be able to see the questions on the dashboard? Yes, by clicking ‘View’ next to the factor on the dashboard, you will be able to see the survey question that factor relates to.
Improving your experience
We've been working behind the scenes on a project to improve The Happiness Index platform experience, particularly in relation to viewing your survey results. To us, platform experience means 2 things.
- Improving the platform insights dashboard to align with how you actually want to use it
- Improving the platform performance so that you don’t have to wait as long for your data

FAQs
- Will I still be able to see historical data if I want to? Yes. You can either select older survey periods when you are filtering your survey data, OR you can download the data in a .csv file which will contain all historical survey data.
- Are you going to add trend information to other pages of the dashboard? Yes, trending will be added to other pages of the dashboard in future phases of the project.
Encouraging more comments from your respondents
We're making a small change to the wording around the optional comment boxes in the survey to explain why we ask for additional comments.
Where your respondents previously saw the wording "Additional comments for this section" we're replacing this with "To help us gain a deeper insight, please provide a brief explanation for the answer(s) you have given". This is to encourage more comments from respondents so we can deliver better analysis.
